Special classes of solid-state detectors for very specific applications are Mercury Cadmium Telluride devices. These devices can be manufactured with varying stochiometries to yield detectors that can be sensitive to very long wave infrared radiation. These devices enable the detection of infrared radiation with relatively high efficiencies. However, due to internal mechanisms these devices are heavily susceptible to high surrounding temperatures. Cooling to liquid nitrogen temperature will negate much of these effects. Available in both single channel and multi-channel versions, a host of applications can be covered. Consider for instance the use of MCT-detectors in absorption spectroscopy, 2-D vibrational spectroscopy and ultrafast pump-probe spectroscopy. Especially with certain types of spectroscopy, it can be beneficial to have a two-line array. Our supplier, Infrared Associates can meet this demand with its custom array manufacturing. A system, including data-acquisition electronics gives you access to a complete turnkey solution to move your experiment into the infrared. | | ||
